Welcome to the P.S.B.T.C. Website!

We are a group of like minded enthusiasts working to build a solid Stafford community. Our Mission is to promote, encourage, foster and advance the breeding, well-being and interest of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier with sound temperaments, good health and correct physique through education, community events and sportsmen like conduct. The club is dedicated to observing and adhering to the Breed Standard as adopted by the American Kennel Club. We are committed to investing time and effort in public education to promote a better understanding of our dogs, and to cultivate goodwill among people interested in Staffords. The club is based in the Baltimore / Washington Metropolitan area, but receives and actively encourages participation on a worldwide basis.

BREAKING NEWS!
Bill to prohibit BSL to be introduced in Special Session

CONTACT the Governor and state legisators to tell them you support the passing of a law that prohibits discriminatory laws that declares dogs dangerous by breed!
Update! Maryland Animal Law Center has been contacted by Maryland State delegate Michael Smigiel, Sr. (R-36, Queen Anne, Cecil, Kent, Caroline Counties), who intends to introduce legislation during the Special Session in May, 2012. The proposed legislation would prohibit municipalities from declaring dogs dangerous simply by breed!
After contacting the Maryland Dog Federation for suggested language, the following was forwarded to the delegate:
"No dog may be deemed "dangerous" or "potentially dangerous" because of its breed. This shall not be construed to prevent a county, municipality or public body from adopting or enforcing its own program for the control of dangerous and potentially dangerous dogs, provided that no program shall regulate dogs in a manner that is specific as to breed."
Governor O'Malley has also been asked to introduce legisation in the Special Session to prohibit declaring dogs dangerous simply by breed. Let him know you support him in this effort! You can reach Governor O'Malley's office...
